Banganga Fair

The Banganga Fair of Jaipur is one of the biggest and famous events of Rajasthan. It is held every year in the months of April-May (Hindu month of Vaisakh). The Banganga Fair has immense historical significance for people of Rajasthan as well as for those coming from other states and cities. Arjuna, one of the five Pandavas created the lake at Banganga. During the famous battle of Mahabharata, Bhishma Pitamaha (one of the most great warriors) was wounded by Arjuna. When he asked for water, then Arjuna immediately shot an arrow in the ground from where water comes out. Since then, this lake is considered very sacred.

The Banganga Fair of Rajasthan is celebrate as an auspicious time. People visit here to

take dips in the Lake to eliminate all the sins from your life. On the full moon day of the month of Vaisakh, thousands of devotes visit this place to take a dip in the holy waters of this Lake. Besides the devotees, many traders come here to sell their articles. These articles can be anything like toys, household items and handicrafts to rural equipments.

The Banganga fair is not limited to any specific generation as one can notice people from all age groups. Both adults and children enjoy at the fair with the various different activities organized . Children enjoy the various rides that are organized for them. Numerous devotees visit fanous temple known as Shri Radha Krishnaji temple, which is situated at the banks of the Lake.
