Bihar the state of India was formed on 15 Aughust, 1947. The capital of Bihar is Patna. Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal are its neighboring states. Literacy rate of Bihar is 47%. There are 45,098 villages and 130 towns in Bihar.

The rivers that flow in Bihar are Ganga, Gandak, Burhi Gandak, Son, Saryu, Kosi, Kamla, Panar, Saura, Lakhandai, Keul, Ghuari, and Pun-pun.Bapabar hills, Mandargiri hills, Kharagpur, Rajgir, Mirzapur, Kaimur plateau, Nawada upland form the mountainous region.

Bihar tourism has not as much as momentum but it is a pilgrimage centre to Buddhist, Jains, Hindus and Muslims. It is rich in mineral resources and a variety of industries. Bihar is an interesting place to travel. It is a place which can be the centre of attention for the tourists.

Bihar must be highlighted properly from tourism point of view to make it popular. It gets visitors every year. It is a very nice and culturally rich place. The Bihar is typical in there folk and local dances that are performed here. It is a nice place to visit.
