Haryana became a new state of India on 1st November, 1966 with Chandigarh as its capital, and since then it has made efforts to show progress to become one of the most prosperous states of India. Haryana's is well developed in telecom and transport department, which is its major strengths in the economic field. The small state of Haryana, spread over an area of over 44,000 square kilometers, was founded in 1966 when the former state of Punjab was divided into Haryana and the modern Punjab. It is both the oldest and most modern of places.

An important event in the calendar is the Suraj Kund Crafts fate that takes place at Gurgaon, which is on the Delhi-Haryana border. It is held in the month of February for only two starting weeks. Haryana has a rich and varied history - it has witnessed the rise and fall of many an empire.
