The city has a very good transportation network with NH 15 passing through the city. The best season to visit Jaisalmer is between October and March.

The old city was completely surrounded by an extensive wall, many of which has sadly been ripped away in recent times for building material. Some of it remains, however, including the city gates and, inside them, the massive fort which rises above the city and is the essence of Jaisalmer. The main market area for shopping is directly below the hill, while the banks, the new palace and several other shops and offices are near the Amar Sagar Gate to the west. Best time to visit Jodhpur is in the month of October to March.

Desert National Park

The Desert National Park of Jaisalmer is situated in the heart of the Thar Desert

that is sprawled across Rajasthan. It has a wonderful ecosystem and is rich in diverse species of flora and fauna. Some of the common species in the Park include blackbuck, chinkara, wolf, Indian fox, desert fox, hare and desert cat. The birds which are commonly found here are green bee eaters, blue tail bee-eaters, common quail, bush quail and Indian rollers.

Jaisalmer Fort

It is Situated inside the Thar Desert and is the majestic Jaisalmer Fort of Rajasthan which is also known as “Sonar Quila”. It is around 800 years old one of the biggest desert forts which is made of golden yellow sandstone in the world.

Nathmal Ki Haveli

The haveli has its relations with 19th century. It is a famous landmark of this place which was made up by the help of elephants these Yellow sandstone seem like ultimate. The architecture of that time had a unique blend of Rajput as well as Islamic style of construction.

Patwon Ki Haveli

The Patwon Ki Haveli in Jaisalmer. It is a grand five storeyed building wonderfully designed by skilled artists this will have you mesmerized the moment you lay your eyes on it. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful and majestic havelis of Rajasthan.

Bada Bagh

This garden in Jaisalmer is located on the Ramgarh Road and was built in the 16th Century by Maharaja Jait Singh. This garden has three interesting things to watch – garden, tank and a dam. Another notable feature of this garden is the cenotaphs.

Jain temples
