Geographically, Jodhpur is situated near the center of state of Rajasthan. It is the second largest city of Rajasthan and it is one of the most sought after tourism spots in India. Rao Jodha, chief of the Rajput founded this place in the year 1459 and in the Rajputana days, it was the capital of the Marwar state of Rajasthan.
