Puskhar Camel Fair

Pushkar camel fair is the world's largest camel fair, in Rajasthan is a grand event held on a massive scale in Pushkar. It is also the world's largest cattle fair. The fair in Pushkar lasts for 5 days and is considered as the most sanctified fair of India. Pushkar is visit by lakhs of people who come here every year in the month of November to attend the great camel fair. Pushkar camel fair is one of the biggest fairs in India. Trading of livestock like camel, cattle, sheep and goats take place on a large scale and people from the farthest and nearer rural regions of Rajasthan come Puskhar to take part in the fair.

The activities that take place in the fair not only trading in livestock but also include handicrafts, camel races, dances, drama, and music competitions. It is about indulging

in festivity and celebration some happiness to an otherwise dull life in the harsh desert like conditions. The small town of Pushkar comes alive in this fair of activities and celebration. The whole ground is decorated in colorful paper streamers and small tents (camps) are put up by people coming from far away distances. The fair is basically started with camel race and is followed by different musical programmes and other activities major activities which is played by local people of this city.

The fair is concourse by acrobats, folk dancers, traders, magicians, musicians, sadhus and tourists who don't miss one of the best opportunity which is the glory of Rajasthan. The devotees vistors take dips in the holy Pushkar Lake, which is very famous in the relgion of hindus. There is also a beauty contest for camels where the owners decorate the best-looking camel. The great price goes to the owner of a camel that wins the contest. So never left this fair when visit the this desert city of Rajasthan.
