Winter Carnival in Himachal Pradesh

Winter Carnival is mainly celebrate in Manali and Shimla, Which is one of the two main winter fairs organized in Himachal Pradesh. It is organized in the month of February every year, when a lot of snow and ice covered the slopes of Himachal hills. People coming to the carnival for winter sports also which is organized at snow-capped Rohtang range and ski slopes of Solang valley. Beauty contest is also one of the major attractions of the Winter Carnival of Manali which is also known as the 'Winter Queen' contest.

The tourists visiting the hill station enjoy this fairs as well as other activities. Other major highlights of the carnival are fashion shows and cultural performances which is held by the local folk artistes. This procession is organized in Manali mainly when the Winter Carnival begins with the worship of Goddess Hadimba, at the Hadimba Devi temple of Dhungri. Thereafter, the cultural procession starts by the teams who participating in the carnival. It comes to an end at the Nehru Park, popularly known as Ram Bagh.

The Winter Carnival of Manali holds the status of a state, declared by the Himachal Pradesh Government. Every year, a large number of visitors and teams of players from various youth clubs, colleges and universities all over India visit here and participate in the carnival, their performances being assessed by a panel of judges. In This carnival everyone enjoy fun and entertainment.
